What does it feel like to have a stroke?

Is the patient aware of what's going on, or does the reduced blood-flow take away the awareness?

    This is creepy --  I was thinking just the same thing last night. It all creeps me out. I'm going through some "medical potential seriousness" at the moment, so I just try to take it a moment at a time and not think too much. That's just me, though.

    I don't know the answer to your question -- I have a dear friend I could ask who had one, though. I've not ever delved too deeply into the topic with him, though.

    I know people who have had strokes also, and even though I'm curious, I wouldn't want to upset them by asking in a face-to-face conversation.

    Yes, I won't ask him. He brings up the subject on his own every now and then in conversation and I listen and whether he brings it all up, it's up to him. Fortunately, he came through the whole thing extremely well.
