Years ago. 1980 something. Even drove across the country a few times and partly across several more. Now my "road trips" consist mostly of going to the mall or visiting friends or stepdaughters two towns away. Seldom go away on vacations any longer.
Sounds like me. When my husband was alive and the kids were small, we took road trips all the time. Those days are gone, and , like you, my road trips consist of mostly going to the mall or visiting my daughter. ;)
Youth! I used to alternate weeks of love with two wonderful men driving 1200 miles Berkeley to Eugene and back. Did this a number of times. Once drove cross-country for a desired weekend with an old love in the Boston area. Or just to visit friends. Also hitched quite a bit in the 70s.
Never. The whole idea of driving around for the fun of it does not exist here in DK
Well. bikers here do have it, at least they frequently drive around in big groups, just to show off the bikes that they are very proud of.

Let's see...Yesterday, I went to the library, grocery store and the post office. Oh what fun. This Summer I will be going to Brunswick, Maine for a week.
Three and a half years ago. Adelaide to Sydney and return, to farewell my dying mother. She passed away from cancer mere minutes after our return, I flew back to Sydney for her funeral.
My next road trip is coming up next week. First we're going to northern Wisconsin for the family reunion for my husband's mom's dad's side of the family. My cousin from another country is visiting us now so I guess she gets to stand around being bored on that day but we'll make it up to her by taking her to Wisconsin Dells the next day. After that we'll go to southwestern Wisconsin for the family reunion for my mom's side of the family. That's my foreign cousin's side of the family so she gets to be less bored that day!
After that we'll drive my cousin to Chicago where we'll spend some time doing some fun stuff and after that we'll take her to O'Hare to send her home.
