Typical. They take a complex issue and give it a five syllable name with no meaning of its own. Then everybody who can rattle off that name smoothly thinks they know something, although they never check with anybody to be sure they are all talking about the same thing.

https://syllablecounter.org/ counts 173 SYLLABLES | 573 CHARACTERS | 81 WORDS in the first paragraph of the Wikipedia link. That is an average of 2.136 syllables per word. When you can explain the concept with an average between one and two syllables per word, then we can discuss it.

I don't pretend to know the specifics of it all- - but in a very simplified form (I know I'm simplifying to the idiotic stage) -- if the term could somehow incorporate the following general concept everywhere, within individual countries and countries with each other, I think it could be good.

The world could become more like family -'course always having some minor little spats now and again.

And not so likely tariff wars.

I was sort of thinking along those lines, too, in a general sort of way, yes.

Why..? Answermug is a kind of small form of globalization. Helps one learn a bit more about the rest of the world.

(CNN) Donald Trump is presiding over a sunset to democracy that is spreading across the world, eradicating much of the spirit of globalism that once was a beacon to freedom, free trade, and democratic values.

Democrats might have to come up with an anti-Trump solution. ..or their own kind of Trump person.

A great read from the beginning to the end.

She's possibly a salt of the Earth type candidate. The article says we need a less ferocious, less obnoxious, less shirts-against-skins style of politics, a chance to redefine leadership and Make Democracy Great Again, I agree...

I thought about Senator Elizabeth Warren when I read your post. This post was edited by Beans/SilentGeneration at June 20, 2018 5:13 PM MDT

Here you see demonstrations of my thesis: everybody thinks they know something about globalization, but everybody is talking about something different.

In the link I posted lists the multi aspects of globalization. People choose which is of their particular interests.
