When I was young we had a border collie. One time, on the day before thanksgiving, my mom made a large cake to take to the family dinner (held at my aunts over 75 miles away). She spent all day making and then fancily decorating that cake. That evening, while we were at Wednesday evening church, the dog forced its way into where she'd stored it and ate almost all of it. My mom was beyond furious. She scolded the dog and threw it outside. But I guess that wasn't enough. As the dog sat by the back door looking guilty, she picked up what was left of the cake, went outside and screamed, "You want this cake? You want this cake? Then you're going to eat every last crumb of it!" With that she stuffed the rest of the cake down the dog's throat. Its face, nose and chest were smeared with frosting.
I am so sorry but I laughed ... your mom sounds a character and I am betting the dog learned its lesson. It was probably ill for a few days after that.. I am thinking my dog will be unwell - it was a chocolate cheesecake.. only a small slice so it went down in one go but I am betting it will cause her tummy ache. I only scolded her and told her she is a bad, bad, bad, dog.
