Scientists change their minds now and then, but they are still right.

Conversely, the tenets of religion can’t change, yet have not been proven with evidence.

Hypocrisy, or cognitive dissonance? This post was edited by Don Barzini at June 26, 2018 12:21 PM MDT

Science is anything that can be measured. Spirit is anything that can not be measured. Spiritual matters are not proven by logic. Science is proven by logic. No connection. The reason you can't "prove" God is that if you don't believe, then by definition all proof is nonsense.

Religion is baloney made up by men, not worth discussing.

Those are your definitions, Jewels, I’ll not be bound by your opinion of what things are. I can think of things that are neither spiritual nor measurable, and some that are both; can you not?
At least we agree on your last line about religion, but it IS worth discussing, otherwise, how do we free minds from it’s spell? This post was edited by Don Barzini at June 26, 2018 1:25 PM MDT

Apparently we can't even agree on what the words mean, so there is no point in trying to discuss anything at all.

An anomaly is an inconsistancy, proof is substantiation. Not the same thing.

Why then, if you think as you do, isn’t science proof that your beliefs are wrong? This post was edited by Don Barzini at June 26, 2018 12:22 PM MDT

    a·nom·a·ly
    noun
    1. something that deviates from what is standard, normal, or expected.
"there are a number of anomalies in the present system"

synonyms: oddity, peculiarity, abnormality, irregularity, inconsistency, incongruity, aberration, quirk, rarity

"the growth on the duck's bill is a harmless anomaly"

A great many things are consistent but called anomalies because people expected something different. The word actually means "unnamed". Just because something is an anomaly does not mean it is wrong.

You really need to break that habit of assuming that whatever you think is automatically true and correct and the whole universe is wrong if it disagrees with you.

You proved me right then accuse me of assuming to be right. You’re a funny guy, Jewels.

I can think of it in terms of a graph.  I think most of us have experienced this, in school.
Dots on a graph can be charted and show a straight line ... but there may be outlying anomalies.
Those outliers don't mean there isn't a straight line ... they just mean there may have been an error, or they don't fit the pattern for some reason.

Lots of good answers here.. I'd add to the answers that my understanding is that an anomaly is something that doesn't fit, an inconsistent result.. If so then this doesn't prove or disprove something, and no one would be wrong as such. Were there to be many anomalies then that would be different but then again at that point they would no longer be an anomaly :P
