Does the trapped soccer team in Thailand weigh heavily on your heart?

I wish them all the best in a safe return to the sun.

It weighed more heavily on my mind until they were actually found.  Now I worry that they may have to stay there for months until the monsoons are over.  It has to be terrible for them, but the kids look calm.  Can you imagine if they were American kids?

I don't think I heard about the situation until after they were found.

Maybe American kids might be calm, too.

If it was American kids, it would have been like Lord of the Flies.

Am I allowed to smile at that? I hadn't thought of it that way. Even though the stranded boys in the novel are British -- I still get your point.
    :)
I don't mean to be overly-detailed -- it's just that the book seemed very British to me somehow.
    :)

I'm in a rough state today - - sometimes makes me overly-apologetic, too.

No need to apologize.  I just meant that American boys that age aren't always as well-behaved in the best of circumstances.

    Thanks, SpunkySenior.

Yes, that's the way I took your comment.

There's a group of boys/young teens of a soccer team trapped in a myriad of underground caves in Thailand. They've been found safe but trying to get them out is challenging.

Yes. I was so glad they were found alive, but it's a long way from being a happy ending.

    Yes, it seems that way.

I don't think I really heard about it all until after they were found.

I'm glad they've been found for sure.  Couldn't they give them a quick course in SCUBA and take them out one by one?

I think that's one of the options they're all looking at.

It's awful.  I would be bananas if my son was among them.  I'm glad they found them and feel like they can sustain them for a long period.

Pray for them and their parents.

    Yes, I am doing that.

I don't even have children but it still hits me in the gut.

    Yes, me, too.

Teaching them to dive is one of the options they're thinking of doing, I think.
