Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» We are all IGNORANT about some things. When you take a job requiring specific knowledge you don't have what do YOU do? Why?
I won't take a job that I can't do (why I'm still unemployed). While one can learn some on the job, but one should a least be somewhat competent in the field before they start. If you have to go in for brain surgery, you want that dotor to know what he's doing; not just learn or guess as he goes.
Or a prez! :( It helps if you're honest and know your strengths and weaknesses. It helps if you are very curious to learn and very determined to succeed. Then you do the work it takes to get there. SIGH. But the lazy bums who are ignorant and incurious who truly think they know everything are hopeless. If you already know everything what is there to learn? I think I'm gonna ask. Me too Shuhak. I'd far rather understate what I can do and give more than was anticipated than pretend I can and embarrass myself. Thank you for your thoughtful reply and Happy Tuesday! :)
You research, you listen to experts, you take advice, you put in the hours to try to understand and gain at least an informed knowledge of what's involved, you learn.. What you don't do, is pretend you know when you don't - bluffing it is a really bad move in some jobs
Especially if one is prez! SIGH. Precisely Addb! Exactamundo! You put in the work it takes to become conversant/knowledgeable. Of course there is always a learning curve for everything. But if you know absolutely nothing about the job while simultaneously believe you know how to do it because you know everything well then failure is a certainty! Thank you for your reply and Happy Tuesday! :)
