    Mine love the heat.. it's boiling out there and my doggitz has an injury from lying on the cold hard floor trying to keep cool... but my kitties.. they are still sleeping in a heated cat bed!!!  Mad!

    Cats don't pant like dogs to help cool themselves.  Instead they lick themselves to remove sweat.  When my big cat gets hot he "melts" (he becomes limp and "oozy".  I turn on the ceiling fan to help cool him.  My other cat just licks and licks himself to stay cool.  Many times he'll lick me (throughly) as he thinks it helps cool me down as well.  I haven't the heart to tell him I'm allergic to his saliva.
