Well since I am competitive and all... argument is used here to denote a debate, one's points are also deemed to be one's arguments... My stomach is growling too.
So far so good... but I think you being more popular would also rely on others. You can't control or make up someone's mind for them. Only they are responsible for that. Wining a tennis match... that is competing. Swaying a mob of people to like you is really a competition that takes, time, money, and a lot of finagling. I know you well enough to know you don't want to take Element's status away. You just would like to be in front of him. :) :) I like you both for entirely different reasons. It doesn't seem like that would be a competition.
I'm not a very competitive person. In fact, the only person I really compete with is myself. {However, I seriously think I cheat. Unfortunately, I've never been able to catch myself in the act, so I don't have any proof.}
I reached the point were it seems more fruitful to identify with others rather than to compare. I once held a job at a prestigious marine science institution. My wearing my big shot's t-shirt around just made some people envy me rather than admire me as I'd hoped. I gave up that sort of thing and came down to earth to meet the people where they live.
