Yes, we brought the kids to watch "Rango" (it was an animated lizard) but the language and some of the jokes were too much. We left in the middle. The kids asked to leave.

That speaks very well for your children as well as for you m2c. Thank you for your reply and Happy Wednesday. They recognized junk and didn't want to waste their time! :)

You've got a writer in the family m2c! Seriously. That is an excellent example of torture.  Who wants to either hear a hammer slam down hard on something or have one hit you? Thank you for sharing that! :)

Wow! Multi-talented. That's great m2c! All those choices sound like very creative MASSIVELY fun things to do. Good for him and good for you. There are some who are very multi-talented. They write, play, sing the songs they perform. That way they are in complete control of all of it! Who knows? I think being excited about/interested in many things when one is young is a good indicator for someone who is goig to lead a very satisfying and productive life. It's the kids that just sit around who complain about being bored and never open a book who would worry me! :) This post was edited by RosieG at July 11, 2018 7:57 AM MDT

Never a book...but quite a few films that are really just graturitious gory violence ....films like "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre " .....many others sick films as well.....Why do people want to watch people suffering the most gory horrific deaths ,I will never know.....
For any enterainment , I want to leave feeling happy ,not sickened by what I've paid to watch....

Me too. Walked out on more than one. I did stop reading a book once long ago though. My sister is a huge Stephen King fan and she loaned  one of his books to me. I forget the title but I stopped reading it, handed it back and never read another one. It was decades ago. Thank you for your reply D!  :)

I never stopped reading a book. I did walk out on a few movies. “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” is my most hated movie.

Didn't Nicholas Cage win an Academy Award for that movie? I saw it and can't  say I liked it because it was so very sad but I thought the acting was exceptionally good. Different strokes. Thank you for your reply Rizz! :) I stopped reading a Stephen King novel decades ago. My sister was a huge fan. I forget the title but I never read another one. Too scary! :)
