Don't you just love singers who sound just as good live as they do on record?

  •   I realize that the sound of a screaming audience, in the back ground, doesn't change a performer's abilities, but I prefer studio recordings where I get to hear what I paid to hear.

It is like walk-in movie theaters.  As a kid, I hated walk-in movie theaters.  Kids screaming for their Hero and me not able to hear the movie.

I don't like to hear crowd noises in the background, either.
    :)
I think I've heard this song when you've maybe posted it before? Unsure.
It's nice. This post was edited by WelbyQuentin at July 10, 2018 7:07 PM MDT

  • Yes, I've posted it before ... mostly because it's one of the most beautiful videos I've seen ... regardless of the song. Very well made, I think.

I just looked -- and immediately remembered - - yes, beautiful!

(I've always thought Steve Perry has a fantastic voice)
    :)

And I've always loved The Pointer Sisters -- especially here, when all four of them were in the group and they sang jazz. (Though I love their pop-soul stuff, too!)

Even their studio records have a "live" sound to them -- excitement, whether fast or slow. It may not be everyone's cup of tea but I love the tight fast jazz. But they're just as good when they're slow and taking their time.
This is a 28 minutes-long recording -- I've never listened all the way through. I should sometime soon.

Aye, indeed good when they are authentic.

  • Yes, but it's hard to find that studio sound in a live concert.
