Good Vibrations.
I haven't heard this album, I've only read about its reputation as being one of the best albums ever by any group ~ "Pet Sounds" I think it's called?
I bet I'd find my favorite one on that album.
:)
Read all about "Pet Sounds" here, Welby.

I'm sure you know "Wouldn't It Be Nice", "God Only Knows" and "Sloop John B" even if you haven't heard the full album. I have the album on CD.
:)
Hey, thanks Andy B! Indeed, I have heard all three of these songs and all three are ones I really like. (And the three are very rarely played on the radio around here whenever The Beach Boys stuff is played.) I will have to read the article, too.
So, I guess, I have heard songs from the album!
UPDATE: I just read only the first two paragraphs of the article and I now know instantly that I must buy a copy of this album for myself. Wow.
"Little Deuce coup".
Their music's...okay.
I tend to prefer artists who tackle darker subject matters than surfing and sailing.
Buy it, Welby, you won't be disappointed. The song "God Only Knows" was apparently refused radio play some time ago because it's not a religious song and some said it was taking God's name in vain. Personally I think it's silly and unnecessary to refuse to play it for that reason. It was released as a single with "Wouldn't It Be Nice" on the other side and that side was played regularly. "Sloop John B" was the other single from the album and I remember liking that one when I was only four years old. I still like it just as much now after 50 years. :)
That's a great one, SwirlyGirly. Inexplicably, it wasn't a hit in the UK (their next single "I Get Around" was their first big hit here). Still, at least it was a hit in the USA where we would expect it to be. :)
I love "Kokomo", but I'm not sure where the Muppets come into it. Did they re-record the song with the Muppets? I have the original 1988 version of "Kokomo".
That's a good one, BahamaSurfdog. Pity it's so short.
There's nothing wrong with that occasionally, but generally I like good-time music. That's something the Beach Boys were experts at doing. Lol:)
