Just don't have I guess the emotion or the intellect to participate in the level of hate that has become acceptable here on a daily basis. Or maybe the anger and guilt.
No, logically hate isn't connected to intellect.. Intellect is needed to hate properly, I think, as one needs to reason and be able to defend that position.
I think any kind of emotion interferes with clear thinking Addb. It influences the words one chooses to use greatly. Being dispassionate and calm is essential I think to presenting any argument. The more you CARE about something the more apt you are to go off the deep end and lose the argument. Just my opinion. The unemotional person will ALWAYS WIN EVERY ARGUMENT. At least that has been my experience. Also I think in Buddhism the goal is to be detached from outcomes. I'm not CERTAIN about that. I'm gonna ask. Thank you for your reply! :)
