You invite a KNOWN THIEF to your home and open it up to him. Why would anyone do that?

You stand back quietly not interfering as he goes through files and drawers and closets and cupboards and takes whatever he wants. You smile cordially and ask if he needs some bags to carry away the haul. You thank him for the visit and tell him you look forward to his next visit and let him know you are counting the days until you can see him again assuring him that you will have plenty of bags on hand for him to use for his next haul. Preposterous? Or not at all?

I ordered something from Pizza Hut one day and when the delivery person got here with it, this neighbor kid pretended to be me and stole my order. Would I allow him in my apartment? If he was in urgent need of help, yes I would. Doing what he did wouldn't stop me from helping him. Obviously, I would keep an eye on him. That's only common sense.
