We are always getting mail for the people who used to live where we do.  And if we can't have it sent back we forward it along to them at our expense.

I do sort of the same thing, yes.
    :)

Well, maybe not - - I don't know the current addresses of the people. But I do return it to the post office. This post was edited by WelbyQuentin at July 24, 2018 3:52 PM MDT

Forwarding of first and second class mail is provided by the post office and expires after 1 year.

Mailers know this and prefer to received notice from the Post Office that the mail addressed to that old address is no longer deliverable.

You have good intentions, but it's better to write ANK on the front of the mail piece (ANK=Attempted, Not Known) and return it to your mail carrier.

The mailer has paid for the mail piece, and as the payer, he expects it to be handled according to the Domestic Mail Manual if it is undeliverable.

I'd take it to the post office personally. I usually do that with any type of mail in that type of scenario.

I hope that gif didn't really happen but it looks like it may have, what with the FED X truck in the background, too.

He's too cute to do something like that.

Lately, it seems like I'm hopelessly in lust with pretty much the entire male species. (Sort of feels that way but I'm kidding.)

LOL Its all good. No this didnt happen to me, i was just trying to clear some morning question clutter here so I thought it up.
This place needs lightening up in the morning, but sometimes, thats the only time I can come on here. My grandson takes up a lot of time.

Depends.  If I ordered it but they just got the name wrong (happens all the time), I keep it (as it's mine).  However, if I didn't order it I'll send it back; as I'd expect someone else to do if the situation were reversed.  Treat others how you want them to treat you.

Everyone wants others to follow this rule, yet many have a problem applying it to themselves.

Do you remember that game as a kid where some older boy would come up to you and say I'll hit you in the arm until it's too painful and then I'll stop hitting you---and then you can do the same to me?

I'd have to open it, to find out.
I've received gifts send to my address, with the buyer's name instead of mine.

I was thinking the same thing. Its a very possible it could be miss-addressed to someone who sent it or something. Thanks Walt O Reagun. ;)
