Isn't this a creepy use for a harmonica?

~ basically just two notes played back and forth but I remember most, in spite of its limited use, the harmonica in the music score to "Magic"- -  a scary movie I liked
~ harmonica appears right away in the first two-minutes-long opening theme

Yes! That doll is a huge part of the movie - - a ventriloquist's relationship with his dummy. And that's the exact dummy in the movie.
    Creepy!

The atrocities committed by Bob Dylan with a harmonica were far worse.

Even before I read the reviews, I was going to say the picture itself creeps me out.
After listening to it, I agree with all of the above.
It doesn't fit in with the rest of the score.

That ventriloquist's dummy's name in the movie is "Fats." That's the exact dummy in the movie. The movie is "Magic" -- I like it. It revolves around the relationship between the ventriloquist and Fats. who is the actor - - -ah! just remembered -- Anthony Hopkins. Creepy movie. Ann Margret is great in it, too.

Oh, you said you read the reviews - - you probably know all of this already.
    :)

I love the music score actually -- I like the inference of the harmonica ('mouth organ') and a ventriloquist dummy.
I don't know if it still is, but for a while the movie score recording itself to "Magic" was extremely rare and collectible. I got a great deal on one - - I listen to it every now and then but keep it in its original package that it arrived in.
Interesting movie, to say the least, if you haven't seen it. Ann Margret really adds a depth to the movie for me somehow. A well-cast movie, I guess.
    Why am I rambling so?

EDIT: I just looked it up - - the CD seems now not worth a lot of money. Glad, now, that I didn't spend a lot on it. For a while, it was only a limited release and went as high as $150 (I think). It's a great score to listen to, though. This post was edited by WelbyQuentin at August 2, 2018 8:52 AM MDT
