Just imagine you are on one of them going someplace, anyplace you want.  You will be asleep in no time.

A clap of thunder that was so loud and shook the house so that I think my heart skipped a couple of beats.  I don't think I've ever witnessed such thunder.  The lightning was also severe but that is not unusual for South Florida during rainy season.

I'm humming the chorus of this.  :)

I like that song a lot.
    :)

I sort of wish I could have experienced that thunder. To me, thunder like that is breath-taking, exhilarating, scary and thrilling all at the same time.

Wait a second, Professor: doesn't thunder come from two clouds slamming together?

I exaggerated a bit. The noise scrambled my brain cells.

Lately, the sound of emergency vehicle sirens bothers me; they sort of scare me. I was making my bed and suddenly I heard a siren -- very close, as if it were in the hallway. It was. It was my radio - - a commercial had a siren in it.

*** I think sirens in radio commercials should be outlawed. When I'm driving - - and on comes a siren-ish commercial? My sudden "defensive, pay-REAL-attention" mode kicks in. All for nothing, when I realize the radio just scared me. This post was edited by WelbyQuentin at October 2, 2018 4:14 PM MDT

Sort of like answering your phone only to realize the ring came from the radio or TV.  ;)
