    I attended college in Ithaca, NY, where the local joke is that the place has only two seasons - July and Winter.

    Yes.  I lived there for 16 years and still go back every year to visit family and friends.  The sun did shine there from time-to-time but so rarely people called in "sick to work" when it did.  We tried to soak up every ray when it came out to play.

    In addition to my more genteel answer above, I should mention that, as for more immediate places without sunshine, I have been known to place my head up my butt from time to time! LOL.
