Did you hear that the wildfires in California are being magnified because water is being "diverted" into the Pacific Ocean?

Wildfires aren't funny, but the complete BS that comes from @realDonaldTrump is hilarious! Wait a minute! Is this how climate change deniers explain sea levels rising, too? It's not the ice caps melting! It's the bad environmental laws, diverting water into the oceans!

"California wildfires are being magnified & made so much worse by the bad environmental laws which aren’t allowing massive amounts of readily available water to be properly utilized. It is being diverted into the Pacific Ocean. Must also tree clear to stop fire from spreading!"

What? Even in my wildest dreams I never thought him capable of that idiotic a statement.. I underestimated his stupidity... and trust me, given that I always thought he was an idiot, that's not easy.

The scary thing is.. some people believe that the idiot's not an idiot :(

Have you heard of the comedian Jim Jefferies? He has a weekly show here and in a recent episode, he really captured exactly what it's like living in "Trump's America". Here's a clip; hope it works in the UK.

I am having difficulty determining whether or not you are being sarcastic. Where did that quote come from?

I don't either. I heard about that one on Comedy Central's Jim Jefferies show. (see above link)

I'll give Trump credit for one thing; he's really done a lot for comedy!!

Yeah, I heard that. I also heard that climate change is a Chinese Hoax and that Trump polled better Abe Lincoln.

Same source, same complete absence of crediblity.

  • I wish political blowhards would STFU about the wildfires here. It's like: you don't live here, you think Californians are a bunch of "crazy libruls" who should die, you can stop with your BS about problems you don't understand.

My ancestors have been in this state for 5 generations; there have never been so many fires as there are now. Nor have there been droughts so prolonged and so destructive. The effects of climate change are obvious to anyone who lives here.

I think that especially with Trump, everyone knows that he doesn't care at all. His inability to empathize with anyone is the most obvious thing about him.

It's heartbreaking, the devastation and destruction. I can't even imagine it, but my heart is heavy thinking of all of the homes and lives that are being lost.

Ya I heard that I also heard that the fires had something to do with the high price of  Canadian lumber. Trump said that instead of buying over priced Canadian lumber they should be harvesting all the falling tress in the forest. Just another excuse to ignore the real problem  - man made climate change. Trump has the power to help solve the problem but he is making it worse. Cheers and happy weekend!

I hadn't heard that, but I'm not surprised. Trump's hatred for the environment and the natural world is one of the things that I dislike about him most. Too bad his parents never instilled any appreciation for things not made of concrete and steel; maybe he'd have turned out differently.

    Happy weekend to you, too!

Does he genuinely not understand how rivers work?

The sad thing is that Donald Trump risks making himself the laughing-stock of the world - or at least of those nations that don't despise the USA anyway - and by extension, dragging his country down with him.

On BBC Radio Four today, one of its America correspondents was describing the work of the political analyst and writer Bob Woodward, and played part of a recorded phone conversation in which Mr. Trump claims brightly and without a trace of irony or self-consciousness, to be the best president America has had! I didn't catch the reply, but I think it was diplomatically non-committal.

Prior to his running for election, Donald Trump was known in Britain just as a property speculator who finds sensitive landscape areas in (to him) foreign countries, and turns them into golf-courses.
