In the olden days at Answerbag there were zillions of folks named "ANONYMOUS". Couldn't tell them apart. All alike. Are all ANONYMI afraid?

They weren't even brave enough to make up a stage name, pseudonym. They just all blended in to the Anonymous pot.  Will the super don ANONYMOUS make a name for himself? Will he (presumably a he) become the most lauded and admired ANONYMOUS in history?

Please remember that on Answerbag the instructions for many years clearly indicated that if we could not think up a site name we could use "Anonymous".  Which I did from 2009 to 2015 when I left the site shortly before they pulled the plug on it.  Now I am not a very creative or imaginative person and I could not come up with any cute or meaningful names as designations on short order so I went with "Anonymous".

We were not all "alike" at all as any careful perusal of what each of us chose to post would have shown.  I had much more feedback and infinitely more private correspondence on AB as "Anonymous" than I have on this site where I am "officegirl".

As to our fear please understand that some of us with families and good positions and jobs did not want what we posted to negatively affect our relationships and position so we chose "Anonymous" as well because we wanted the opportunity to be candid about ourselves personally without it coming back to hit us in the face and affect what people thought of us.  Many of us are willing to discuss things on the net which we would mostly keep quiet about in "real life".

You may recall that within a week of my being on AB you demanded of me to know my real first name which I did supply publicly because I felt intimidated. Perhaps your initial criticisms did bear fruit because on here I am not "Anonymous" but "officegirl".  Which , by the way, lest you think I have become any more creative or imaginative in the last nine years, was my sign-in name on AB!

This isn't Answerbag and President Trump has already made a name for himself and it all started when he defeated Hillary Clinton in the presidential race. Much to the dismay of the liberal Democrats and liberal Republicans, Trump continues to make a name for himself with fulfilled promises and not kowtowing to the whims of the business, as usual, good ole boys, political establishment. Many may not like Trump's personality and the way he schmoozes but he gets things done. :)

Ooh interesting reply. I do hope you don't mind me commenting upon it. there seemed a few things that seemed astray.. Like...I think many of us, and well over half the US population would differ from the way you'd describe the name HE has made for himself.. Differ greatly.. indeed..  A name he has surely made but for many it really isn't a very good name.. not one we could print on here that's for sure.  HE didn't defeat Clinton convincingly..it was all down to the system and way voting is handled...  and since he and his Russian leaders had a hand in discrediting Clinton then I wouldn't think he has anything to be proud of..

Factually, there are many, many who would point out that most of Trumpet's supposed triumphs are actually Obama's legacy.. things he put into place.. and  to celebrate his supposed gains would be to entirely overlook the many gaffs he has made, the many things he HASN'T done, the lies, the faux pas, the  numbers of times he has been wrong about hiring people,.. I could go on..

Ooooh and I'd choke to death with laughter were I ever to even imagine that what Trump does is 'smooze'   Just take a look at how almost all of the rest of the world think he is an ignorant (insert swearword) who discredits not only himself but the entire nation with his illiterate ranting and his utterly stupid behaviour in insulting other countries, often while they are his host.. Do we think that's going to win friends and impress.. If we do then we would be very wrong.. He has behaved like an ignorant imbecile from the start and all he has done is p*** even his closest international Allies off by proving he is a lying rat with NO class whatsoever.

I have observed similar..  I know that people do seem to like and enjoy the anonymous aspect of the internet.. there are sometimes good reasons for that.. but often the motivation is not good... like people wanting to cheat.. lie.. pretend to be other than they are.. to use people to abuse people.. etc.. It gives rise to ... keyboard warriors, and less sinister but still damaging, it can lead to friendships and connections that are addictive but which don't contain all the nourishment and caring that real relationships do.. or more I mean that people can become addicted to relationships with people they meet online but who have little or no real commitment.. People pretend to care and pretend to be what they are not..

There were a couple of cruel charlatans on Answerbag Addb. One convinced some folks she was dying of cancer or something and somehow got their bank account numbers or tried to because she was going to leave them money or her possessions. They were so distressed on her behalf and I was never involved with it but learned about it after the fact. Turns out she was a complete fake. I do not remember if any folks actually were harmed by her and gave her their bank account numbers but I guess she was very convincing. Then there was this guy who told us of his gravely ill wife. He told us she was a Lesbian and had a girlfriend who traveled with them and he was okay with that. I am not joking! Then he said she took a turn for the worse and died. Then he gave a blow-by-blow account of transporting her body from wherever they were in Europe back to the United States. Turns out it was a complete lie. How it was uncovered I don't remember. But this was the fallout. A few of the people who took him very seriously were so upset distraught and embarrassed they left Answerbag. He said he was a military officer and used a military title. It was very long ago. The effort fakes make to con people always amazes me. Being duped like that. Playing with other people's emotions. Manipulating people. That is cruel and evil and sport to some. I have no doubt there are others on internet social sites similarly engaged in lies  to ensnare the gullible. It is sad but it is true. Whether or not there is anyone like that on  Answermug I don't know. But if someone is giving you a very long sad tale and asking for personal information run don't walk and do not look back. Thank you for your reply m'dear! :)
