Does your Mom call you endearments because she can't remember which of her adult children you are? Do you remind her?

    Um - no, I meant terms of "love" used because the son's or daughter's actual name has been forgotten.

    When I think about the meaning of 'crotch fruit', I guess it applies to all offspring, like "sproglet" or "squirt."
    I suppose in some families that could be a term of endearment.

    Yes ,with six kids and partners plus shed loads of grand kids getting names right is nigh on impossible....
    We all have silly nick names given to us by my parents or brothers and sisters....:)

    With your  Mom - easy to understand if elderly and in such a huge extended family.

    Mine has only ever had the two of us - but she still can't tell us apart.
    Gets our life events and jobs mixed up too.
