they're not really that dangerous, yes there are some safety rules just like with everything. bwhich are don't wear over face, don't wear to tight, don't wear near fire or in extreme heat, and don't sgo to bed wearing them unless they are only up to your arm pits. Other than that, they are pretty safe to wear.
When I was in 6th grade, I had to be a Gingerbread Man in a school play. We used the big, dark brown bags for our costume. Cut a hole on the bottom for the head, and one on each side for the arms, belt it and voila : Gingerbread Man.
"They" also say to keep some in your vehicle, because if you are ever stuck and it's cold outside, it will insulate you and help keep you warm.
Two instances where yes, I have worn/would wear one.
