If you cannot decide on who to vote for, do you just not vote at all?

I'm thinking about going to vote.  The only problem is I have no idea who to vote for.  If I vote Dem, it's only because Beto O'Rourke is for legalizing marijuana.  If I vote Rep, it's because I like the idea of secure borders.  If I vote Lib, it's pretty much a waste of a vote, but I might sleep better at night.  Do I dare not vote?

  • It's a tough decision sometimes but I manage to pick someone eventually.  I've never been so undecided that I didn't see any point in bothering. If you can't decide which is more important to you between legalized pot and secure borders than maybe there are some other issues out there that could break the tie?

Not voting isn't a choice for me.  I believe if I don't vote, I forfeit the right to complain about anything the winner does that I don't like.  There have been times, in a major election, when I have voted for what I believed was the lesser of two evils.  If I can't decide who that is, I vote party.

Each voting day we have a half dozen or so local candidates running for jobs like treasurer, judge, commissioner etc. I rarely know who they are, so I don't vote for either.

  • I did leave out Ted Cruz is the Rep candidate.  I guess I'm going Lib again.  That way I can gripe no matter who wins. :P

It's your responsibility as a citizen to educate yourself as to the issues and the candidates.  Let's face it, it isn't like you don't have the time.

Unless you understand issues and have informed yourself about the candidates, you or anyone else in that predicament should not vote.

    Take the quiz on www.isidewith.com

It will tell you which candidate best matches your positions on the issues.
