How did you find out Marvin was gay? Did you hear it through the grapevine?

    Marvin who?

Marvin Gaye the singer was twice-married and had three sons.

What have we come to when a twit like you disparages an American music legend... This post was edited by Don Barzini at November 18, 2018 6:30 AM MST

Marvin Gaye was not "gay" but she is just playing a little word game she used to do a lot on another Q and A site.  I don't think she is trying to disparage anyone but just to have fun.  This post was edited by officegirl at November 19, 2018 6:30 PM MST

It was a joke. I heard the song on the pub jukebox last night and thought of this question then.

Being married to a person of either gender and/or conceiving children does not indicate whether or not someone is heterosexual.

You may not be familiar with Kenz and therefore made the incorrect assumption that her post dilifies our late Mr. Gaye's good name, but it is merely a continuation of a long series of tongue-in-cheek questions she offers as lighthearted banter here. True, she has been absent for quite some time, but for many old-timers such as myself, her presence predates even AnswerMug, having begun in the now defunct AnswerBag.

How is saying in 2018 that someone is gay disparaging him or her? Haven't we moved past that kind of homophobia?

In his day it was, and Marvin was not.
    Spreading ignorance is disrespectful, Stu.

There isn’t enough lame humor on here, I suppose.  This post was edited by Don Barzini at November 18, 2018 2:55 PM MST

No ignorance is being spread, Don. You have every right in the world to find that it lacks humor, fine. There is probably no topic on earth that has never been joked about, and probably no jokingly intended reference that has people who take offense to humor being made of it.
Are you so perfect that nothing you've ever joked about offended someone or that nothing you've ever found funny was deemed non-humorous by others?

I have the grapes.  You know the musical grapes.  They have big mouths those grapes.

That works out perfectly if the topic appeals to you. Otherwise, it just makes people wine. There are bunches and bunches from which to choose, so don't keep things bottled up. Cheers!

I was stuck with this picture.  I was looking for those grapes in that old commercial.  Everyone loved that commercial.  I thought I had saved a bunch (n o pun intended) of those a long time ago.  Oh well.

Oh here is why. They aren't fresh  grapes they are the California Raisins.
