How do Californians feel about being blamed by Trump for the devastating fires? It's your fault because you don't clean your floors!

"You gotta take care of the floors. You know the floors of the forest, very important... I was with the President of Finland... he called it a forest nation and they spent a lot of time on raking and cleaning and doing things and they don't have any problem." - Donald Trump

I know it's a huge list, but this has to be near the top of the dumbest things he's ever said, right?

  • Typical of the callous Orange Blob.  He and the rest of the Trumpeteers need to shut their mouths and stop the finger-pointing at least until the victims are no longer homeless/living in shelters, all of the over 1,000 missing are accounted for, and people can begin to move forward with healing.  Rubbing our noses in it at this very moment when the fire is not even contained doesn't help, so muzzles for them all.

    Hello Lavender
I must respectfully disagree. Is stifling speech which you disagree with or find distasteful really the road you want to travel.
Secondly, if we waited to talk about it till' everyone was settled, we would be waiting for an awful long time. In 2017 we had 1000;s of wild fires, some breaking records for loss. Over a million acres burned, almost 10,000 structures burned and dozens of lives were lost. Many, if not most of those who lost everything are still waiting to "move forward". We have been burning here for years.
I live in a very wooded area, and worry about the dangers of a fire. I have many dead trees on my property. I cannot cut them down without going through an expensive, lengthy process that would cost thousands of dollars and take years. We absolutely have issues with forest management.
PG&E may have indeed provided the spark, but the lack of fire preparedness provided the fuel.
California and the forestry service have been sued time and time again by environmental groups which has hampered the ability of Forestry agencies to be proactive with forest management. Logging has been made, through these court action, and the feds shutting off lands, to become almost extinct in the state.
The irony is that these fires have done more to damage the environment than forest management ever could.
Now we find ourselves in the position where most all of our resources in "forestry" are spent battling these fires instead of preventing them.
Furthermore, President Trump has been trying to open up some of these federal lands to logging and cleaning since before these current fires began, something which the U.S. Forestry dept. agrees would reduce the risk of these "mega" fires, in fact, the general consensus was that this needed to be done, until of course, President trump said it...Now....well we just need to shut up...c'mon Lavender, You can do better than that...

    So true!

Pres of Finland says he didn't bring up raking forests, either. Not that Trump being a big fat liar is a surprise to anyone.

This man has done so many atrocities that he should be yanked out of that chair and jailed.

Anyone who protests should be in the same cage with him.  He loves adulation.

Just throw this freaking bum out and take his puppet Pence with him.

It reminds me of Sauruman and Wormtongue in the Lord of the Rings.

  • Sorry. Deleted my post.  If you people would like to continue finger-pointing and nose rubbing a la our Presidon't, rather than doing something to actually HELP,  please continue.  I am out.   I think I have some paint I would rather watch dry. So now, the President of Finland has said he never spoke to Mr Trump about “raking”  or cleaning the forest floor, as per Trump’s claim. Didn’t happen.

Never mind that Finland isn’t much like California, curious premise to begin with. The man makes this blather up as he goes along.

Q: Why hasn’t the US Dept of the Interior been on top of this? Too busy scrubbing “Climate change” from their literature.

The American forests aren’t going to “rake”’themselves, and they are enormous. Has Trump ever actually been in a forest? Rake?...really?

I saw that! No surprise to find out Trump lied about it. Lying is one thing he's good at. Lying and sexual harassment are his specialties! Liar in Chief and Pus$y-Grabber in Chief.

Exactly what I was thinking about the Dept of Interior and about Trump never having set foot in a forest. His hatred for all things of the natural world is mind-boggling! I'm sure that behind closed doors he talks about leveling every tree in the country and building casinos, hotels and golf courses in their place.

    His imbecility is remarkable.

It's called forest management.  Every state I have called home participates in that activity.  You must.  Even homeowners should keep their own property cleared of dry brush.  My home city spends a lot of money keeping all public parks and wooded areas cleared of dry brush.  The president is right.  He hasn't held back assistance in any way.  California seems to have forgotten about real governance.

    Hello lavender...
He has been trying to help. he has approved a "Major disaster declaration" for California, which releases Federal funds to be used to aid California and the victims of these fires.
What about helping future victims. After a shooting we immediately hear "Gun Control Now!!!", said in an effort to stop future shootings. No effort is made to curtail such a discussion until the victims have had time to heal.
The best way we can help is by trying to minimize the impact of these fires. The sooner we do nothing, the sooner nothing will get done...There are more fires coming, should we not try to prepare so we are not having this same conversation next year.

How do Californians feel if they  VOTED for this deranged person?

How do Californians feel who did not?

It must be a huge RED wave of disappointment on both ends.  The Horror.  The Horror.  (End of Apocalypse Now)

Anyway, this man has no conscience.  He is an empty vessel with nothing to offer.  Since he is an empty vessel, he keeps wanting more and more to fill a hole he cannot possibly comprehend is there.

He is in hell and we get to watch because America let this happen.  I DO BLAME THE COUNTRY FOR THIS.

  • I think the rake was photoshopped.   I believe it was originally one of his  Legos for his walls he was playing with.   I am kidding...or am I?

I remember an actual shot where he was playing tennis that looked like that but he had shorts on.

He must like to bend over a lot.  He had better stop that practice when they throw him in the pokey.  (yes Pun intended)  POKEY.  Snigger.
