Any fans of James Bond?

Optional add-ons:

Which one's are your favorite? Which are your least favorite? Who is your favorite actor in the role? Least favorite? Who's your favorite Bond Girl? Who would you like to see be the next Bond? Or do you think it no longer makes sense in this era and should finally end?

My favorite entries are: You Only Live Twice, The Spy Who Loved Me, Living Daylights, GoldenEye, and Casino Royale. My least Favorite is Quantum of Solace.

Sean Connery will always be the bar in my opinion. Honestly I've liked every version of Bond, they've all had at least one good one in my opinion and were appropriate for their time.

Diana Rigg, Barbara Bach, and Michelle Yeoh are the most badass Bond girls.

There was a lot of talk about Idris Elba being the next Bond, Which I would be fine with.

I would however also be fine with it's discontinuation.

    Best: Connery. Worst: Craig.
Connery defined the role. Roger Moore was too old (by the time he did Octopussy he was MUCH too old), Lazenby too laid back, Dalton not laid back enough (Bond shouldn't be uptight), Brosnan was probably second only to Connery but never managed to completely disguise his Irish accent - and Craig is wooden. Can't play the role, all Bond films with him in the lead have been about the special effects rather than the character.

I never understood the attraction women had with James. I mean, James scored so easily with the chicks, and in those days I couldn't even get chicks to ride on the back of my motorcycle! Man, I was a loser like Bevis and Butthead!

Really?  Surprising!  Many of us do go for men who are strong, handsome,  a little mysterious, but very disciplined and ruthlessly efficient.

No the only one I ever saw was Goldfinger which seemed very silly years later.  Big fan of Pierce Brosnan however.

No never.  Well, sorry when I was 13 I loved him.   It was new back then.

Now it is a shallow copy of a shallow copy.

It was fun at first but really, so tired.

What is the draw to watch this?  Some fabulously entitled, rich, lucky man kills and destroys and gets laid over and over and over again.   And can escape any impossible, ludicrous trap.   And the bad guys are always the same.

  • I have never been a big fan of Bond, James Bond, movies, although I love the 1967 Casino Royale movie with David Niven, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Burt Bacharach.
