If you usually get one, have you gotten your Christmas tree yet?

Saw a news story that there's a shortage this year.

My parents and I always drive to a tree farm by the coast to cut one down, so we'll be doing that today :)

    hello Nevan B
I usually wait till the week before Christmas..When the kids were at home we would go to a tree farm on 92 near Half Moon Bay...

We used to wait until the 15th.  But, there is NO wrong way as long as everyone is together!

    Hello there Merlin...
    That is so true...
My son will arrive on the 19th and the others are coming on the 24th..
Since the kids have been gone, Christmas has been the one time of year that we all get together...
After the recent rains we have got, I walked the property and saw a few small firs so we may, my son and I cut one of those for this year...

There's a Skyline Drive near where I live, and it's in a neighborhood that's also called Skyline.

    Hello there Randy D
If you live in the bay area, we could be neighbors...
If not, I hope your Skyline is as beautiful as mine...

  • Skyline in Oakland or Skyline in Napa?   Both are lovely in different ways.

    Hello there Lavender

      (get away's  getaways)

One word only, and no apostrophe.

It's a compound word, which means that two word  words become one, and it's a plural noun, not a possessive noun, so no apostrophe is needed nor correct.

    That is so Cool!!

It is good to carry on tradition.  My family has that tradition, too.  Unfortunately, we don't practice it anymore because my sister and I live too far away.  Between my sister and Don, it feels like we barely make it to Christmas anymore.
They are both working 'til the very last second and then we scurry to meet mom and dad.  I think it's very sad.  After all the years they made this season special for us, I would like to return the happiness for them.  I guess technology and times have changed some of us.  Not me, though. I always feel terrible because of it.

Thanks for letting me say all that.  It just came out of me.
I am extremely Happy you and your family still keep your tradition.  Happy tree hunting and I'm sure you will find the best tree, Ever! :)  You will hang all the ornaments in just the right spots and have fun doing so.

  • Thank you! :D Sorry your family doesn't do that anymore; we've been lucky to keep it alive for so long. We've been going to the same places since I was very little. The only difference is that now I'm the one who gets to saw it. We got a great one this year. Looking forward to decorating it!
