Am I a Christmas Grinch?

I heard this performance for the first time on the radio yesterday.

By searching, I figured out the group.

The whole time, I enjoyed the singers but got more and more annoyed at the audience's reactions. They kept interrupting them by cheering, screaming, applauding. I think this performance is the performance the radio station played.
By the end of the song, I was thinking to the audience . . . "Shut the ---- up and let them sing."

Yeah, I know . . . I'm really filled with the Christmas spirit, huh?

I hate it too!  Unfortunately, that's what happens at live shows.  People need to learn to wait until something's completely over BEFORE they applaud.

    Nice song.

It IS wonderful, isn't it? amazing stuff to me. I'm glad to hear you were able to be OK with the audience. Maybe I'll give it another chance but I think I tend to prefer performances without the live audience. adn ,even though i disliked the audience's reactions, I was still able to enjoy and appreciate that the audience is simply enjoying it all, too.

I'm overthinking this morning. I think.

I don't care for live recordings either, I don't want to hear the audience on a recording. Now, if I am in the audience it does not bother me.

Yeah, I'm the same way, my2cents. I recently went to see my favorite band/groups in concert -- Simple Minds. And I was so thrilled to be seeing my favorite group in concert that I enjoyed it all. And the other people in the audience? I don't remember anything bothering me.

Bette Midler is the only artist to come to my mind whom I prefer hearing live recordings. I've seen her in concert and she is so alive in front of an audience that, though I like her studio recordings, I really enjoy the energy of her live work.

    Yes!

I've never really liked the original song so much. I tend to like variations on the song. I was floored by the intricacies of these guys' version. I like The Muppets' version, too.
