I give you mike pence your veep! The lowest profile of any veep in history. Notice how he is becoming a wraith?

You can barely the outlines and soon he will disappear to a safe place and stay there until he is installed as president? He probably already has his staff picked out and a plan to make a smooth transitions from the don to the mike. Another Michael. There was also Mike Huckabee. Wasn't there an archangel named MICHAEL?

Touche. Methinks thou refereth to Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. However Donald the Duck and donald the "prez" are orders of magnitude apart in every way possible. If that Mickey Pence dared upstage that donald he'd have been long gone. I don't know how but the donald of trump would have made his life miserable. I wonder if a veep ever resigned what would happen? The only way the mike of pence has survived is to be a bobble-head silent yes man or invisible. I think he thinks he needs to hide behind the cloak of invisibility to survive what comes next. He has his troops ready offstage I betcha to swarm in swoop down and take over. Thank you for your reply Sbf and Happy Saturday! :) This post was edited by RosieG at December 15, 2018 6:21 AM MST

We know what would happen if one resigned, it already did happen. Spiro Agnew.
Veeps are usually transparent - either because they're stump dumb and have nothing to say (like Quayle) or can't get a word in edgewise because the boss never shuts up (Hubert Humphrey comes to mind - he once said the office of VP was worth a bucket of warm spit). Pence may well fit both categories.

Wasn't the Agnew resignation part of the Nixon criminal activity?  A fallout from that or was it entirely separate? I very vaguely recollect the guy.  Joe Biden did a good job. Didn't George H.W. Bush serve the country pretty well as a veep? Al Gore and Bill Clinton? It's true that veeps leave very faint tracks and in fact I'm struggling to  remember more of them. There was Lyndon Johnson for JFK. An uneasy alliance at best. There was Harry Truman who inherited the job and made a pretty dam* good prez. Didn't Quale tell us that ketchup is a vegetable and argued with someone about how to spell potato? He said it had an e at the end? I guess being veep is a thankless job for someone who has talent and brains. The prez doesn't ever want to be overshadowed by selecting a comparably talented/intelligent running mate. Which is understandable. Some take that to great lengths and select idiots. I see a question in there which of course I shall be forced to ask.Thank you for your reply Sbf!  :)

Agnew resigned mired in a seperate scandal. Fiddling the books. That was before Watergate broke. Bush Sr was a good veep, mostly because he WAS invisible - had the decorum and common sense to disagree with Ron behind closed doors and out of the public eye, which gave Reagan a chance to remove his foot from his mouth discreetly.
Some VPs become good presidents. Teddy Roosevelt was one, and you already mentioned Truman. They weren't particularly flamboyant as veeps before being catapulted into the big chair.

Thank you for re-educating me about how it all went down Sbf. I was less politically attuned way back then so I didn't really pay much attention. I appreciate that you do know and you shared with me the knowledge. I wonder who was the most honest prez? Think it was "The Buck Stops Here" guy? Truman. I'm gonna ask. :)

Right you are ducks! I guess they didn't call him "HONEST ABE" for nuttin'! Then there was good old George Washington who said "I cannot tell a lie" and confessed to hacking down a cherry tree. Or is that just an old wives' tale? Thank you for your reply Sbf and Happy Sunday! :) I liked IKE. He was the one who WARNED us about the Military-Industrial complex! He would know being as how he was a GENERAL. Wonder how he'd have dealt with the don? This post was edited by RosieG at December 16, 2018 4:52 AM MST

Republican though he was, Eisenhower was the last good Prez who was also a thoroughly decent human being, until Obama.

I'd rather have a wraith like him than a MEGA SORCEROR OF THE DARK SIDE.

He is a shadow.  He will never amount to anything.  He will be the spokesperson-puppet for the GOP.  He will be President Sara Huckabee.  But still, he does not knee-jerk tweets with the whole world watching and laughing.

He can be made to understand he needs to be scared.  He can go to jail as sure as Trump is going to.

He may be a little less Hawkish in his bid for power.  It is better to trust in his incompetence and inability to rule than some imbecile who refuses to recognize he is the worst thing ever to rule the Oval Office.

Here's what I think Sharon. Pence already has his shadow government staff set up and ready to go. He is a good actor and pretends to be an incompetent because it suits his purpose and never places him in the bullseye of the wrath of da prez. When da prez is bounced Pence and shadow government fully staffed and prepped and ready to hit the deck running will show up. Could I be wrong. Sure.  Thank you for your reply and Happy Saturday!  :)
