You are just a pretender to the belief-system.
Awwww Thanks Tom. You know Cat Stevens who wrote this song is a Muslim.
Well, the point is there is no violence to react to. If there is violence on the Peace Train, you have brought it with you.
This is totally away from all violence and just an abode of Peace running around the tracks in each major city. Kind of like a traveling Buddhist Temple or something nice like that.
When someone comes along who tells you this Bible passage, or that Quran verse, commands that you must sometimes kill in the name of God, you can be sure that you are being sold a barrel full of ****.

If your god commands you to kill, your god is a murder. (A gutless one at that.)
If you act on your god's command, you are a murderer.
The same general rules apply to any form of initiated aggression.
He wasn't a Muslim at the time he wrote Peace Train. In fact, when he converted he quit singing/producing music altogether.
Correct. Libertarians call the inappropriate use of violence the initiation of force. We consider it wrong in all cases.
Wrong. The NT contains no such commands to general violence. The Qur'an does. If you'd read either one you'd doubtless know this.

I'm very anti-violent, but believe in self defense.
For any reason?
I can think of many situations when violence would definitely be.the.proper response.
"In fact, when he converted he quit singing/producing music altogether."
Some facts can change - sometimes for the better.
"The NT contains no such commands to general violence. The Qur'an does." and there is another seed of discord, hatred of the other and violence.
"Wrong. The NT contains no such commands to general violence. The Qur'an does." if you're set in your ways you're unable to see that you're continuing to sow seeds of discord, hatred of the other and violence.
Perhaps it might help open the eyes of such people to acknowledge the fact that the NT was never the scripture of Jesus or any of his disciples. The scripture the person is trying to distance himself away from because of its graphic depiction of violence WAS the scripture of Jesus and his disciples. There is no running away from that.
"If your god commands you to kill, your god is a murder. (A gutless one at that.)
If you act on your god's command, you are a murderer."
Moses and Jesus worshipped and obeyed the God of the OT. Was that God a murderer? Moses carried out the commands of that God. Was Moses a murderer?
Those for peace can join and/or support World Beyond War. It is planning a big event in Washington, D.C., in September 2016, just after the International Day of Peace, including a conference on Friday September 23 through Sunday September 25.
They’re also working with the National Campaign for Nonviolent Resistance (NCNR) which is planning a nonviolent activism training and planning session on the 25th and a nonviolent action in D.C. on Monday morning September 26th, with support from Campaign Nonviolence.
Join them to learn about and engage in working on viable alternatives to war and militarism.
