They are all individuals with different ideas.  I have no idea what half of them think  regarding family values and customs.  I do my own thing and they do theirs as a rule.

  • If they don't, then they keep up the appearance that they do. But with half of my family in America and half in Japan, it's not easy to get everyone together.

My family has always been like a bus station: lots of familiar faces, but nobody wants to get chummy.

  • Family is what others have.  I disowned what was once mine, and vice-versa.

Nup. No 'family' to have a view of family.

I'm at the tail end of a family dying out due to dysfunction.
My sister and I are the last. Neither of us had children.
I no longer know where she lives and am happy to let it remain that way.

  • Nope, not at all. I gave up drinking in excess and drugs in the spring of this year. last years xmas was just a bunch of super high people yelling out ´gingernutz’ . That’s probabaly what my extended family is doing tonight. Getting high as’ And parting like animals. That’s what family is to them and was to me do a very long time... but I can’t and won’t do that anymore. COS i said so :)
