Should laws be upheld rather than changed/challenged to fit agenda every change of ruling party?

    Depends on which laws are being proposed for change.
    Social mores do change over time - for instance, we now all agree that slavery should be illegal and that this should be upheld by the law.
    But some laws may need to change to fit changing circumstances.

    The planet has an urgent need to fix the problem of global warming,
    and while much of the change can come from how each of us live
    and from the changes big business will make by making profits from new jobs and technology designed to reduce CO2 and pollution,
    we still need legislative changes at all levels to help facilitate change at the rate that is needed.
