    After you pass the age of 70 or so there is very little happiness. My mother was happy at 90, hoping to live two more years so she could be the oldest in both families. She lived almost to 99, but there was no more happiness because she couldn't drive, or sew, or read, and Lawrence Welk was the only show on tv that she could tolerate.

    It depends on their health. In my experience, most older people have poor health and a deteriorating quality of life.
