Does a King have to answer to anyone or anything? Is a King in charge of everything all the time and has no one to whom he must answer?

Kings don't get elected. Right? They just are and century after century the ROYAL FAMILY carries on the tradition started way back when for whatever reason. Any King ever change the politics of his country to a Democracy and step down and turn the country over to others to run  ?

  • Only in a constitutional monarchy does a king/queen answer to a governing body. Divine Right monarchs answer to God. (Haven't seen one of those in more than a century). Monarchies have been re-established after revolutions or civil unrest overthrew them(on a few rare occasions). Mostly for symbolic or ceremonial purposes. Are you proposing to turn this socialist republic into a monarchy? Since we like to refer to "American Royalty" and "dynastic" families, it might work.

I doubt Rosie would like to turn our republic into a monarchy, but it's looking more and more as though Donald Trump would like to be the king.

The Emperor has no dough.  I don't think Trump will be getting funding for the wall and don't  think he will be able to declare National emergency and  just take money for the wall.  Plus some of his businesses are failing, lenders know he is a credit risk and there are lots of law suites against him.  I think Trump figures he has no one to answer to but himself and his answer has always been money. So when the well dry's up he will either have a hissy fit or drive himself mad like King Lear and think -  Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
the slings and arrows of my base , or to take arms against a sea of troubles that I created and start a war to divert attention. Cheers and happy weekend!

With each passing day and each tweet from him more and more ridiculous, I believe he's on his way to being King Lear.  I wish he would hurry up.

Very literary allusion m'dear. I like it. I dunno how long he is gonna survive. I'm totally astonished he has lasted THIS LONG Nanoose. His comeuppance day is near and will appear...maybe via Robert Mueller? Or maybe via Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters and the other Dems who are now IN POWER IN THE HOUSE and will do the job it is supposed to do and abdicated for two years. OVERSIGHT. THAT'S RIGHT. OVERSIGHT. Watching him like a hawk every moment of every day. Heck Robert Mueller probably has VOLUMES of proof/evidence of the extent of his criminal activities some of which may be treasonous or traitorous. Certainly putting forth the policy of Vlad Putin his Russian handler and crushing any American opposition is criminal cruel evil. That's just for starters! Let the games begin.  Thank you for your thoughtful reply Nanoose!  :)

He is so out of touch with reality, it is not funny.   Bragging about shutting down the government and pulling out of Syria.  I mean, what next?

I think his existence..his very being...is an insult to everyone but the evil perps who control him and wind him up and put him on the table so he can fregurgitate everything he has been programmed to throw out and up. A windup toy. Nothing more. Thank you for your reply Sharon.
