do you know who Jules Verne is ?

basically, he's a french author from the 1800s , havin wrote awesome books like ' 20 000 leagues under the sea ' and others books who talk about adventures mixed with scientific stuffs and all that...




i read 3 books of him and it was really experiences like i havent had before...

  • I like books because of the imaginative creativity, but movies make them pop when not too far off from original.

    I saw the movie first, and Walt Disney assumed the boat was powered by nuclear fission. I read the book and discovered it was powered by sea water batteries, which are remarkably messy. Also not powerful enough to move a boat. The Gibson Girl emergency radio of WW2 was powered by a sea water battery and using it for a short while polluted thousands of gallons of water. The hand crank was a much better source of power.

    Yes, I do.  I saw the movie in the early 50's with my parents.

  • Must have played hell on you growing up, them doing that to you at such a young age, dragging you to the marquee and doing unspeakable things in front of you while you you rasped "I can't hear what they're saying". xD
