Is there a psychological reason why women change their hair during a breakup?

I have never done that. I actually have never heard of that lol.    I have known women who cut their beautiful long hair short and icky after they give birth.  I never did that though, I don't understand why women have done that.  It's not that hard to keep babies from grabbing one's hair.  O well, their hair, their life...
