Apparently, being black which I am, doesn't make me an expert on Motown.

  • Lol that’s okay... I’m the whitest basic bee-ach... but Motown is my favourite music genre. So neither of us fit stereo types then ;)

No elon.  :)  That was pure pop and I liked it too back then.

  • Maybe it’s a generational thing ... but I thought it was Motown song too. She is over ten years younger than me, but I thought same as her on this one.

I remember that. Not Motown originally though as someone here wrote Junior Walker may have done it.

  • It was very popular back in the day.   1972, I think.   I was about 9, and it was always on the radio.  Great song.

  • That was a wee’ Bit before I was born :) not that that matters :) most of the best songs were before I was born. The best gift my parents ever gave me was having a huge record collection for me to explore in our basement while I  was growing up:)

It's the only thing I can think of by the Temptations that I don't care for. This post was edited by Thriftymaid at January 14, 2019 9:44 AM MST

  • Never liked this one.   Maybe it was just too overplayed, I don't know, just don't like it.

  • lol I believe most of the songs others have mentioned were before your time. That's Motown - Oldies but still great.     Aww, I love records still, and how cool to have a big collection to explore. I wish I still had mine, but we have a few record stores here that sells used vinyl very cheap. I just need a turn table and speakers.

  • I don’t have any records now:) but we didn’t have cable television when I was a child in my home cos my parents didn’t want it. So my sister and I entertained ourselves with listening to my parents and grandparents records :) i hated it then but grateful for it now :)

  • Sounds like you made the most of what was available to you, so that's a good thing.
