  • We were in NYC not too long ago and saw an off Broadway performance of "Jersey Boys" ... LOVED all of the music, as I did growing up.  I have so many favorites, but I think "Oh What a Night" is one of my favorites!

    Valli.   No they were popular when I was about 6 or 7 years old so I was really too young and I never liked them much.  I think they did one "Dawn go away I'm no good for you ,,,,"  that I remember but did not like it much.  Their music was sort of corny and postured, forced.

    I think there was a show or a movie based on their career called jersey Boys.  Well I was a "Jersey Girl" but there was a big difference between Newark where they came from and Suburban NJ where I grew up.  Plus they were lots older.  So to most people that I knew kind of old-fashioned. We were into I guess what we imagined was more subtle stuff like The Rascals and Motown  - danceable but with the kind of beat that made you move your whole body and not just your shoulders. I thought of them as shoulder music.  Not that they needed me to like them - they were very big for years but it was with a different kind of crowd.
