Zero.  I stayed with raising fruits and vegetables (although I have raised a roof or 2 as well)

  • I have raised one of my own ... and am working on helping to raise one who calls me Grandma.  I have to say that the most recent offspring is the most fun.  ????

Only  my two daughters in toto.  I made it a point to let people that I dated know I had no interest in rearing anyone else's children.  As far as community, the Church Christens children into the Family of Christ and his Church and all members take part in nurturing that child.  I participated in that in my work with the children's music program (choir and hand bells).   This post was edited by Thriftymaid at January 25, 2019 3:15 PM MST

  • I can't believe it. It seems like just the other week when you mentioned you guys were having twins.   I bet it's a lot of fun now with the mobile twins and the Residents.

  • just one

i have a brother who is 11 years younger than me

my mother had post partmum depression after she had my brother and i was always there when she needed me to take him. i didn't mind tho because it was exciting to me to care for a little person. i remember after school i would do my homework with one hand and hold his bottle for him in the other. i burped him, i changed him, i gave him baths. he was a really sickly baby and i was the only person who could calm him. one time he had an ear infection and he would not stop crying and screaming, my mom was at her wits end so she gave him to me while she gathered up some stuff so we could bring him to the doctors. i took him and walked around and talked to him and he calmed down after a few minutes.

I think I've more or less been a foster parent without the official title for a couple decades. I have three of my own. I had two "nieces" with me for the better part of five years, another who was with me for about three, and two more with me for about two years, so eight.

As I never had children of my own - three of a former boyfriend for a couple of years and my husband's youngest lived with us for a year or so.  Other than that just sitting the kids of others including my grandchild (step grandchild).
