How come in the US it's okay to rape someone and get away with it but when you have cancer lost your job and couldn't pay your bills you gotta serve time?

Why?

    MOOT

It is never okay just because it occurs.  It is not okay so the question is moot.

Uh, I'm just guessing here, but it might help participation slightly if you explained what the hell you're talking about. :-)

  • You just tapped into my pedant nerve. :) ....a Moot question is one that requires talking about though most people use it in the incorrect sense of it doesn't need talking about ... What meaning did you mean to mean?

And for free it comes from an old saxon word of a Moot which was a meeting for a discussion

Pedantry period is now over :)

No one serves time for not paying bills, unless those bills are unpaid judicially-ordered fines.

  • I've heard of people losing their homes for having cancer and they couldn't pay their bills. It's really sad because it's basically like saying "how dare you for being terminally ill" next time plan cancer duh :P just amazes me.

As for the jail part I am not even sure that would be legal. That sounds like a human rights violation but I don't know the circumstances.
