Why haven't people learned that racism is about oppression and justification?

If you can find a difference between one person from another---color of skin, eyes, hair. Or if they are gay, or speak another language. Maybe a different religion, different alphabet, more wealth that should be yours, racism occurs.

It justifies you taking advantage of others to get what you want for yourself. If you are selfish enough, you want it all.

I've known for a very long time that it's about oppression. It doesn't justify anything as far as I can see.

I thought racism is specifically about discrimination on the basis of race... not eye colour, income level, etc.

Thank you, Stepper. Now perhaps the people who see your answer will realise that those who don't like certain religions are not necessarily racist. There is currently a silly and inexplicable rumour going around that it is racist to dislike a particular religion (not necessarily the people who believe in a specific religion, but the religion itself) and I say it jolly well isn't.

You're thinking of the old definition of racism. Now, it seems to change with the weather.

Racism is confined to Race,, thats why it is called Racism....  sexuality has nothing to do with race and thus nothing to do with racisim.. It has nothing to do with wealth or culture either..
