I'm sure this question has been done a thousand times over but I know my responses change over time.

  • Mitch Hedberg  is/was THE Man!
    Carlin, too!
    Dave Attell
Greg Giraldo - another great one gone
    Louis CK
    Brain Posehn
    Lewis Black
and an old friend of mine from high school, Chris Titus.  LOVE him.
I have to add Redd Fox and Steve Landesburg (sp?)  - two older school comedians who have been gone for awhile but were great. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at February 7, 2019 5:19 PM MST

  • Great list, I love Lewis Black too, lol.

Mitch was my FAVORITE....I was heartbroken when he died  :(   But there are still a lot of comedians that shared his kind of humor that I love like Demitri Martin, Steven Wright.  And some I completely hate like Jimmy Carr, hahaha....just something about him that angers me.  I also enjoy the shock comedians as well like Anthony Jeselnik and occasionally Sarah Silverman can crack me up too.  Jeselnik is the master at shock comedy though, lol.  This is definitely one of his tamer jokes....most of his stuff many easily find quite offensive.

  • I will have to check out Anthony Jeselnik.  I love Sarah Silverman, especially her older stuff.   There is one comedian in particular whom I cannot stand. I forget his name, but he has a puppet - I can't stand comedians with puppets. They're never funny, and it's damn creepy.    Bob Saget's comedy is funny too. I love him because he is much raunchier than his Full House character Danny Tanner. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at February 7, 2019 8:38 AM MST

  • Haha I despise the puppet comedians as well....Jeff Dunham seems to be the most popular one. I'm also not a big fan of the Blue Collar Comedy troupe....Jeff Foxworthy's voice is like fingernails down a blackboard to my ears. Did you ever see the roast of Bob Saget on Comedy Central?  My god that was brutal, lol.

Definitely check out Jeselnik..if you've got Spotify all of his albums are on there...at least last time I checked. I have a feeling he'll get you laughing quick.

  • Jeff Dunham, that's his name. Can't stand him, and I with you on the very unfunny Blue Comedy troupe and Foxworthy.      Oh wow, I missed Saget's roast, so I will have to check that out on YouTube if it's available. I bet it was hilarious.

  • The roast is definitely worth a watch.....you might find the more you watch it starts to wear thin because the variety of jokes pretty much stick to just one topic.

  • Have you ever watched Whose Line Is It Anyway?  Great show, but once Drew Carey left, I lost interest.   Great comedians on there though, especially Colin Mochrie -  ugh, I forgot to add him to the list.

  • Yesss I love Whose Line.  I've been watching it ever since they used to air the original British versions on Comedy Central. The American version was hilarious too but the British version wasn't as sensitive when it came to censorship...they did some crazy stuff, haha.  Colin is definitely hilarious though....when they do the News skits I always love the puns he does when he's giving the top story. Such as.......

“Famous Playboy Hugh Hefner managed to successfully stop an order of monks from operating a business on his property. The police forced the friars to close down their stall, which was outside the Playboy mansion where they had been selling flowers. Said one friar, well, if it was anyone else we may have gotten away from it, but, unfortunately, only Hugh can prevent florist friars.”

  • lol I love News Skits.  I still like  Whose Line without Drew, but I don't care for that Ayisha chick - she's just not funny, and they should have replaced Drew with someone who does comedy, and I don't like that they have guests on there.   But Yeah, I love Colin's puns - he's amazingly quick.     I vaguely recall the British version, but it's been so long, I need to check that out as well.

  • Yea, the whole CW version is a bit blah at times.  Ayisha has her moments but you're right...she's no Drew.  And the guests completely would interrupt the flow of the show.  It was rare but sometimes there would be a guest that was actually quite funny.  I seem to remember an episode with Kathy Lee where she was extremely handsy with one of the comedians to the point it was almost awkward.

  • OH man, I forgot Kathy Lee.   That was definitely a great exception. I loved her and oh, what's his name...  the one she was playing with.    They were fantastic together.  Grr, I forget his name now.

  • Jeff Davis...lol.  He's hilarious.  I loved when you would get the occasional episode where the revolving 4th comedian would be funnier throughout the show than the main 3.

  • Jeff Davis, that's it.  I love him, and I love Chip Esten, although he is no longer on.    And yes, that revolving 4th comedian who turned out to be funnier, is always great -  it makes me think of Greg Proops.  Love him as well.

  • They are amazing how they come up with such funny stuff out of the blue!  Wayne Brady is good too!  I miss that show.

  • I love Wayne on there as well.     Whose Line crew are doing a show in Sacrament - about 30 minutes from here. I almost bought tickets, but it's too close to the date that my Grandson will be born.  I'd love to see them on their tour though, so hopefully they will come back this way.

That's neat that you went to school with all of them. I bet he was hot as a teen, too.

I know I went overboard with his hotness.
I forgot to mention I do find him very funny, too, ha!
I admit, though -- I simply enjoy watching and looking. The first time I saw him -- and I have the same reaction anytime I see him still.

Yes, some of my friends kid me a lot-- whom/who DON'T I find hot?

  • I never found him 'hot' in school lol but I was looking through an old yearbook, and I thought he was adorable...   I do love his stand up, and several years ago, his sitcom.  I loved that Stacy Keach played his dad.  I never knew his dad, but I have heard the stories.  HIs current girlfriend, Rachel, is hilarious as well. I forget her last name. I saw them both several years ago at Tommy T's, and afterward my best friend and I met up with them.  He used to be friends with her brother, so my friend wanted to make sure to see him after the show. Oh, Rachel Bradley is her name.  Her stand up is pretty funny as well.

That's all so interesting to me! I don't know too much about Titus' show with Keach.
Thanks for sharing that stuff. And, if you ever get the chance, feel free to tell Titus you know of a guy who finds him really hot. Ha!

    Yay!
    :)

    Ha!

And don't be wary to tell me the truth about his reaction -- that he'll suddenly have an urge to explore his options and to then leave Rachel to better get to know me.
    ;)
    Just kidding, ha!
