New Democratic darling AOC* says "Latinos should not be subject to immigration laws because they are native people" A good legal argument?

After her speech calling to defund ICE.
AOC said, " We have to have respect for children, respect for families, respect for human rights and respect for the right of human mobility,” she said. “Because it is a right. It is a right. Because we are standing on native land, and Latino people are descendants of native people. And we cannot be told and criminalized simply for our identity or our status. Period.”

    When Americans say "Latino" they mean everything from Texas to Tierra Del Fuego plus parts of Spain and Portugal.

    Latino means Latino America.  Spain and Portugal may be Hispanic but are not Latino.  Hispanic means Spanish speakers.  Brazilians are Latinos but not Hispanic (they speak Portuguese).  Peurto Ricans are Hispanic but not Latinos.  In America, where  the ignorant refuse to learn and continue to use words incorrectly, the educated wrongly eventually give up and change the dictionary.  This is a fairly recent development.
