NJ beat me to it. It's different if he doesn't have to work, either due to wealth or retirement.

I don't know if you've caught onto the latest craze or not, but a whole slew of men are not calling themselves "entrepreneurs" because they drive for Lyft. Ugh. Just as bad.

I'm 73, so the likelihood is that I would be dating someone around my own age, which means he would probably be retired.

Does that mean you don't want to be a sugar daddy?

I'm a woman or didn't you get that from my reference to dating a man.  No, I don't want to be a Sugar Daddy or a Sugar Mommy either, so if you're looking, you need to look elsewhere. :)

If they are intelligent, easy on the eye, and can support themselves, then why not?

When I dated, I was just looking.  I was not buying.

I am open-minded.  I don't mind temporarily unemployed.  WHAT I DON'T WANT IS LAZY and SHIFTLESS and MOOCHY.

  • I guess it would all depend on why they didn't have a job.  If they were self-sufficient without one .. sure.  But if they were looking for someone to support them or loan them money ... nope.

  • I could date them, but if it were to go further, I'd expect them to get a job. I don't make enough money to support another person right now.

A woman w/o a job was the 1st dis qualifier when I was dating.  The exception was a Trust Fund Baby, dated enough of them however.  Inheriting large bucks counts as being employed - aka they would not be a drag on my finances.

Currently living with and co-parenting with one, is she does have a job however.
