Have you ever created a monster? ie. spoiled someone or a pet rotten and now they're out of control. How do you fix it?

I used to spoil my cat's by letting them go wherever they liked then sometimes get in trouble for it and the cats would be disappointed and mad at me.. but I would just try to divert their attention,  take them somewhere else or give them a bit of catnip or something.
When the last of my cat's died I didn't have any cats for a while then someone gave me a cat who is thoroughly housecat and does not want to go out at all.  That suits me fine; I can't get in trouble anymore. This post was edited by Kittigate at March 14, 2019 6:16 AM MDT
