Do children still put their tooth under their pillow and wake up to find the tooth fairy has left them a coin?

When I was a child a tooth would pay 25 cents. Would buy a bag of chips,  a soda and ice cream cone. A tooth must pay a lot more now.

You... you got money for your teeth???  Wow!  My mom just took ours and stuck then in an old aspirin bottle. When I cleaned out her house a few years back I found that she still had them (ew!).

Yes they do, but they make a buck a tooth now.  Some get more if they're lucky.

Same when I was a kid, but I think the going rate is $1.00 now.

  • I can't say with certainty that I know, but I think it is still a practice for children to leave a tooth under the pillow in return for money.  However I do  believe the exchange rate has increased substantially through the years.  Sadly I have outgrown all my baby teeth at this point.  You should see what I have to do under a pillow now just to get cash.  Geesh! • My grandson does, and his grandfather tooth fairy leaves him the highest denomination coin, and sometimes a higher denomination note, which he saves in his piggy bank to buy his transformer toy.

Today it's a $5 or $10 bill.   But yes, it is still a thing.

That's pretty good. Kids must have formed a union demanding higher pay.

Well  $5 maybe but $10 seems a little much.
