I just love the song "TRUE COLORS". Do you? Do you let people see YOUR true colors or do you hide them? Why?

I never pictured you as a Cyndi Lauper fan, Rosie!

I wear my heart on my sleeve, mostly.

I am a very bigly fan of hers just because of that song R. Very bigly. Thank you for your reply. I do too. I'm an open book. Never saw a reason to shut it. :)

Good song but meaningless.  What the heck are my "true colors"?  Who even cares?  If anyone even asked me what they were I would have no idea what to say.

I understand that og. If you really think the song is meaningless then it is not meant for you. If you don't know the answer to that no one does. There are different levels of existence. Yours seems to be ground in what exists being based on only that which you can access with your senses.Different strokes. Just because you don't get it doesn't mean there is nothing to be gotten there. You ought not put down denigrate deprecate demean that which doesn't apply to you. You have no idea what lives others lead or what they think about or experience or feel or need or what resonates with them. The world is made up of many different people with many levels of experience and understanding and emotion and intellect and imagination and curiosity and maturation. It is not for me to put you down just because you don't think something I love is meaningful. It is however my right to inform you of that. You call it meaningless. For you that is true. Not for me. Just remember we are all different. If something is not YOUR cuppa tea there is no problem with that at all. As long as you acknowledge what you don't value may be a priceless treasure to someone else and it is just as valid to them as your meaningless is valid to you.. Thank you for your reply. No I like the song too and particularly when she does it with the autoharp.  Or whatever that instrument is.  But I am thinking in terms of - what does that mean and just what are someone's "true colors".  One may say one thing, someone else may disagree and say that something else is their true colors.  We just are the way we are.  Most people don't care at all to find out more about us but some do and they try to which is great but they might interpret certain things as being "true" for jus while others might see other things.  Not a matter of "hiding" - but we just learn that few people even care so we keep our own counsel and some people we open up to while others we don't.

In a crisis your TRUE COLORS will come out despite yourself. In an emergency the TRUE YOU reacts. There are no social pleasantries or polite respectful restraint. No time for that.  Do you run and hide and not help others or do you wade in show up stick around and do what you can do to help those in need of help?. THAT IS WHEN YOUR TRUE COLORS will shine listen gleam. Or the opposite. That is when you discover if you love your neighbor as thyself. If you reach out a hand to help those who need a helping hand or if you look away pretend it didn't happen and move on. TRUE COLORS. The person you really are when there is no time for pretense facade masquerade lying. My opinion. Thank you for your reply og. This post was edited by RosieG at March 28, 2019 9:00 AM MDT
