Was fun. Made a family day of it. Had our kids, grandkids and extended family as well. Had about 15 of us all together.

Gotta by a ticket to win. I don't have much luck on the big lotto. But do hit a little off the scratch offs.

God I don't even remember.  It's been awhile.

I cannot remember ONE.  The last thing I remember (I know there were other events after this) but I have to say something now.

I went to an American Idol event after Adam Lambert came in second.  Chris something or other WON and Adam came in second.  I watched the entire concert and wanted to leave I was so bored UNTIL Adam Lambert came on.

Oh my GOD.  It was  like a high school concert and then this amazing STAR appears.  Adam Lambert IS a star.  I could not miss that even during his auditions.  I love that guy.

We only have a minor league team. This is 5/3 field. Broiling sun, boring game, drunk wife. We couldn't wait to get home.

We went to Detroit a couple of times for a tiger's game. Everbody went to the casino except me. Good games though. Tigers won both times.

  • I think it was for the One World Observatory at the 9/11 Memorial in NYC.  What a beautiful view of the city .. and a sad reminder of all the lives lost there.

  • OK .. the other tickets were on the same trip.  We saw "Jersey Boys" off Broadway!  That's a little more light hearted!  GREAT SHOW.  :)

  • I’m surprised that costs money, do the profits go to the familes of the victims? I bet it is a beautiful view :) I’ve never been to NYC.

  • The observation deck is on the 104th floor ... most of the building is office space I believe.  There's a museum dedicated to 9/11 nearby in another facility.  The building was built as an urban renewal project ... and I'm sure insurance was involved too.  It's well worth the price of admission IMO.
Here's a pic from the top ... you can see The Statue of Liberty in NY Harbor!  Breathtaking views.

  • I hope you can.  It was our first trip to NYC .. we loved it.  We also went on an NBC Studios tour and that was a lot of fun.  We got to sit in the SNL and Tonight Show audience seats ... after hours though.  Lots of behind the scenes info and touring.  So much fun.
