Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» Do skinks* live in YOUR backyard? There are about five living in ours. Different sizes. Very cute they are I think. Do you?
Condolences. They are very cute. Since we lost our cat Tigger almost two years ago we are desperate to love something. We talk to them through the sliding glass door. We never shoo them away. They have found little havens in our background and we are happy to have them. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Thank you for your reply E.

You have GECKOS Nanoose? When we visited my son in Honolulu they'd come inside and you'd see one or two on a wall. I thought they only lived in warm places. I love the GEICO GECKO on tv. Thank you for your reply! :)
Ya ever year catch a pair of them and put them in my garden to help control insects. I always name them Bitey #1 and Bitey #2 to remind my self they have sharp teeth. Not sure about this part but I think they hypnotize their pray - they rhythmically sway their head and neck for a few minutes before they strike their pray. Cheers!
SERIOUSLY Nanoose? That is so AWESOME! We notice they do sway back and forth and sometimes it looks like they are doing pushups. I did read that they are very good in gardens because they eat things that are harmful to plants. Bitey#1 and Bitey#2. Now you are serious right? You're not teasing me? How do you go about catching them and where do you go? Inquiring minds wanna know! Thank you for your reply! :)
I catch them in the early spring when they are still not very active because of cool weather - they hid under tarps. You pick then up behind their head so you don't hurt them. Cheers!
