There is a lake in the Arizona desert, about twenty miles of dirt road to get there. Rattlesnakes are remarkably large in that area, and they coil up in the roadway in the evening. So I'm driving along on my motorcycle and there is this thing that looks like a fire hose rolled up in the roadway. Snakes have lousy traction, and for a moment I thought maybe the motorcycle would fall over and I would be pinned in a pile with a wounded, terrified, rattlesnake.
Yeppers...my "high horse".
